Daily Lesson Planner

Planning Process

When it is helpful or necessary for teachers to translate their overall lesson sequence into daily lesson plans, teachers can use the Daily Lesson Planner to guide them in thinking about and recording notes about the lesson. As prompted by the planner, they think about the lesson’s objective(s) and plan for assessment. They identify key passages to be read closely and vocabulary to be studied, as listed on the Text Segment Planner. They make more specific decisions about student grouping and differentiation strategies that will support learning, and about the resources students will use from the CLP Literacy Toolbox. The planner also provides spaces for describing an activity sequence that details out the broader lesson description from the Extension Lesson/Unit Outline and for adding additional instructional notes.
